(Classes run weekly throughout October-December, student may join at any session.)
This class will set you up to master any dance audition that comes your way. This class will be a fast-paced exploration of musical theatre dance that mimics the format of current dance calls around the country. Class will have a short warm-up and combination to practice your performance quality and speed of picking up movement. This class is designed to make you confident and prepared to take on any dance call in your future. Students applying to colleges for dance or musical theatre can use this class to prepare them for Unifieds and other college auditions.
This class is open to both teens and adults, must be 16 to join. Some exceptions considered, email info@teatrosandiego.org with any questions!
Melissa Glasgow (She/Her/Hers)
Melissa is so excited to teach for Teatro San Diego! She recently received her MFA in Musical Theatre at San Diego State University and has spent much of her career as a musical theatre actor, traveling everywhere from Main Street USA in Disneyland to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. Favorite credits include: Mrs. Darling in Peter Pan (McCoy Rigby Entertainment), Aquata in The Little Mermaid tour, and Rita Racine in Steel Pier (San Diego State University). Melissa also has a passion for education and has taught musical theatre classes to all ages at San Diego State University, the Youth Academy of Dramatic Arts, San Diego Musical Theatre, and La Jolla Playhouse. Her aim as a teaching artist is to shape self-assured students who develop confidence, curiosity, and empathy through theatre training.
